A Moment In Time
A Moment in Time
All that really exists is the moment
There is no need for the past to ever torment
The past is the past
It will not and cannot last
Being present to the present
Ceases all reason for morose lament
Times idles and freezes to the second
The mind's crafty teasers lure and beckon
Anxiety is the stealth robber's secret
That knows no bounds or egress
It is the "is" of the present tense
Living with each breath abets sense
Time is fleeting sand in the hourglass
Impossible to not make it pass
The moment can never be thrown away or cast
Impervious, futile catching time as it speeds so fast
The past only remains a prequel
With each moment there is no sequel
The moment vanishes regret
There is no furtive agenda to fret
The plaudits are held in cursory reality
There is no rehearsal or duality
The future and past become banal and fraught
The present moment is the lesson to be taught
It is only the now to be here
Because the specter, Death is always lurking near
It is where God always meets us in the end
The great Vertical is who into time descends
So come live in the moment and be with Me
This is the only place where we live, breath, and see
A moment in time holds the past, present, and future in one
It is what determines the person we become
--Rhonda Milner
"Show me, Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is. You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you.
Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure."
Psalm 39:4-5
