A Sinner's Song

I wrote this poem to emphasize how we sing the same song because we are all sinners in need of redemption. None of us are without sin because God made us perfectly imperfect.
It is only when we as sinners can fall to our knees in surrender and prayer, asking for forgiveness, that God can heal us and make us whole. Then our song can become a song of gratitude, thanks and praise to God for His loving mercy.
What song are you singing?

A Sinner's Song

I am but a simple sinner just like you
There is no real difference between the two
I can never be perfect as I have flaws
From the beginning of the Fall is the real cause
So I remain a simple sinner no better, no worse
I must live daily bearing this despised curse
A Sinner's Song always ends sadly the same
Because alone I will never win this forsaken game

It is only when I surrender and bow down
To take His bestowed redemptive crown
With hands in the air and knees on the ground
I will no longer be lost, but finally found
I, the wretched sinner, now have mercy and grace
This is all within the smile of my sweet Savior's face
A Sinner's Song is now one of forgiveness and love
It is one of thanks and praise to my Heavenly Father above

Amen

"Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy." Proverbs 28:13

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," Romans 3:23

"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.  If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:7-9
