Love is Evergreen Evermore
What is real love? It is constant, unchanging, and everlasting. Like the evergreen trees that never change, remaining green, lush, and full of life, that is what love is and should be for us. God is Who allows love to endure the impossible so it remains steadfast. We can lean on Him to heal and restore our relationships.
As humans we are imperfect and we will fail each other. All human relationships will disappoint sooner or later. Marriages fail at a rate of 50% because of these deep hurts and failures. What would it mean if we could heal those damaged relationships and mend our broken hearts? Such a task may seem impossible for us, but what is impossible for man is always possible with God.
I am suggesting that we "let go and let God" restore and heal our broken relationships. Just think what this could mean to all of our loved-ones when we decide to forgive and allow for amends to be made.
I wrote the poem "Evergreen Evermore" with these thoughts in mind.
Evergreen Evermore
Love is Evergreen Evermore
Our hearts can then take flight and soar
It is what lasts and remains into our core
Through the centuries, it has been mankind's lore
This is love that endures
It is steadfast and makes us sure
Obstacles will get in the way
Through the unknown wilderness, we can still play
Knowing we will make it through each day
Together, forever bonded we will stay
Unquenchable lasting desire
Is what keeps stoking our ongoing fire
Broken hearts are ours to mend
Forgiveness and mercy, we each send
The love we share will not, shall not end
Excused transgressions no longer offend
That unquantifiable chemistry and attraction
Are what draws us to mutual pleasure and satisfaction
Though darkness looms always near
Our hands together, we will not fear
Although deep wounded cuts still sear
Our shared love we will hold dear
Two melded souls into one
From this love we cannot run
Eternal, everlasting love will win
Our progeny links and knits us forever kin
Sacrifice and honor dwells somewhere within
Commitment and trust can live on after sin
Our marriage covenant cannot be broken
So words of forgiveness and love must be spoken

Our hearts burn with a blazing roar
Love's wellspring flows again once more
Mended hearts can still forever adore
True adoration from God above
Is our model for human love
What is impossible for man, let go
There are some things that only God can sow
When we feel hopeless, discouraged, and low
Turn to God to make all things possible; this He will show
So it is in the giving and forgiving
That allow us, imperfect souls, to continue loving and go on living....
