He is Risen
Not only did Christ take on our sins when He died for us on the cross, He also rose from the dead, conquering death, to sit at the right hand of God the Father who reigns in Heaven. He will come again to reign on Earth and in Heaven. A mortal man can die, but only the immortal Christ, the Son of God, can rise from the dead on His own accord. Easter Day is our most important religious holiday because it is the crux and foundation of our Christian faith. For He is the Son of God, He is Risen, and He lives! So, I write this poem in celebration proclaiming Jesus Christ, our Savior, the Son of God, has Risen on Easter Day!
He is Risen!
Christ died for me so I might win
He set me free from all my sin
I am innocent as a child once again
Christ is now both my brother and friend
His blood has made me brand new
It is my heart that He did woo
I saw the light then suddenly knew
My faith and trust in Him then grew
I am now no longer one who is lost
Because of love He paid the cost
My eternal life has not been tossed
Because my Savior died for me on the cross
Always next to me is where Christ stands
He is on my side so I know I will and can
With gratitude and thanks my heart expands
Into His arms is where I rest and land
It comforts me that He is really there
I can bear all, even if the world is unfair
My promise with my life is to always serve and care
It is to Him I send my praise and prayers
My soul is only for Him that it longs
Thankfulness lifts my heart to song
My debt is paid, erased and now gone
Even all my sins, mistakes, and wrongs
For you and me, He came to live and die
Then from death on the 3rd day to rise
He is the final answer to all the whys
He paid the price for my soul He did buy
The Son of God, the Son of Man
From the beginning He was part of God's eternal plan
He awaits for me with His outstretched open hand
Now on my soul I have His seal and brand
God so loved us to give His only Son
It is He who finished it all, now over and done
He calls and beckons for me to come
From Him never again will I ever run
The bondage and shackles have been released
I am now His to always forever keep
My love for God runs strong and deep
Then to Heaven after my final awakened sleep
My Savior He lives on within me
With the Father and Holy Spirit, the Trinity
My soul yearns one day for Him to see
To my heart Christ holds the lasting key
He is the Alpha and Omega, the final say
No longer for my sins do I have to pay
I give glory to God now and will always
Because Christ is risen on this Easter Day
