Redemption
As we enter into a new year, I wanted to reflect on what it means to be redeemed, to be forgiven and transformed...to be made new. Redemption cleans and purifies something that is soiled, making it new and good again. God can redeem any situation and any person. Even our deepest sin can be redeemed. This gives us hope as there can always be a new beginning with redemption.
Redemption
What does it mean to know redemption?
It means God takes away all and every contention
No matter the allegations they are wiped clean
His blood covers me as I stand before the King
My heart is now free from repression
There is no longer any sinful obsession
He turns the bad in me into good
All things are made right as they should
He sees my soul and knows all
He leads me down my path with His call
I know my Redeemer lives
It is eternal life to me He gives
This blessing is undeserved
In gratitude to Him all my life I will serve
It is Jesus who has already for me atoned
He is the one beside God on Heaven's throne
He extends to me His unmerited Grace
My transgressions I now do not face
I was sinking in sin and was to drown
Before I was lost now I am found
With repentance I am now exempt
There is no longer any future contempt
I am no longer one of the lost and fallen
I am now His to forever call on
Trials and tribulations I can now withstand
Into my Savior's arms I will always land
What He has planned for me I cannot imagine or conceive
He has given me His forgiveness and reprieve
The best is now yet to come
Because in my heart forever lives the Son
I am redeemed....I am redeemed
No matter how it might or may seem
I am for an eternity all His
This will be from now on and now is
Praise God, I will give Him thanks forever
My soul will not leave Him, no never
