A Season for All Things

In life there are times of sadness and sorrow along with joy and happiness. There is a season for all things. This is part of our human journey. Just as the seasons never stay the same, life always changes.

The different seasons bring life and growth then degeneration and death. Death can give way to rebirth with newness and regeneration. So as we accept the time for all things, we must finally in our hearts surrender to accepting God’s infinite plan and it’s goodness. I wrote this poem with these thoughts in mind.

A Season for All Things

People may come into our lives for a season
And when we reflect, there was a purpose and reason
All those leave an indelible imprint on who we become
But we are still more than just all of the sums

There will be sadness, suffering, and loss
Love is always worth this cost
A season for growth and change
Then things will never be the same

A time to let go of the past
Realizing nothing but love will ever last
We will grow old as the circle of life continues
Nothing is for free we all pay our dues

Birth and death, beginnings and ends
What matters in life is the messages we send
Heroes and heroines come and go
All are still mortal with all life’s woes

We are all just tiny grains of sand
Not knowing when or where we may land
So live each moment with joy and appreciation
As our entire life is this final culmination

When we look at all the beauty and really see
Then we can know God’s goodness is what’s meant to be
God has a time and season for all His plans
Finally we must trust that we are safe in His loving Hands

-Dr. Rhonda Milner

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him.

Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before;”

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, 11-12, 14-15a
