Heaven

"Thoughts on Heaven"

I have told all of my children that I am "good to go" any time, that I have no fear of dying. It is all a win-win in living or in dying.  I will either continue to be on earth with all of the people I love, or I will be in Heaven with all of the people I love and my Savior. It is sort of like Uncle Remus' Brer Rabbit saying "please don't throw me in the Briar Patch!" The briar patch to many would cause fear and pain, but Brer Rabbit yearned for it because it was his home. I would never choose death, but when it arrives and it is my time I will go with a peaceful smile on my face, as I will be returning home.

I have written much about death and dying, but what about Heaven? Here are my thoughts on what it will be like and what we have been promised in Scripture.

Heaven

No more crying, no more tears
Vanished and gone are all our fears

Light shining all around
Darkness is nowhere to be found

Peace and love are the state
Never again do we have to wait

Our pleasure and wishes surround
Joy and sheer happiness abound

Laughter and frolic fill the day
Whatever we desire will be our way

Timelessness fades away the years
Health and vigor are what is here

Expansion and growth are the game
Life as we knew it will never be the same

Bonds and shackles are released
All sadness and sorrow have ceased

Only mere Heaven glimmers now confound
Then the trumpets and chorus will sound

But until, Heaven must wait
Then on our last day we will cross through the gate

Where there are no more tears, no more crying
With Heaven's promise there is no fear in dying

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

Revelation 21:4
