She

As I shared about my oldest daughter’s 3 year recovery anniversary, I want to share my poem “She” to remember her birthday on October 10th. I originally wrote this poem in 2015 thinking of both my wonderful daughters and the She I aspire for them to be, as well as myself. My oldest daughter said this is a poem she wants to read everyday to help her remember who she wants to strive to be each day.

The poem “She” is about what it means to be a woman of God and walk that path of service to God and others. I think the overall fundamental meaning can also be translated to all of us, no matter our gender, when we walk in God’s light spreading His love to others as a daily mission and life mission.

She

She moves with passion and such joy
Sowing gladness & love, while remaining coy

Her heart flows with giving & is full of lust
She knows no limits; love is a must

Her spirit longs to run and be free
She feels with intensity, just to be

She humbly serves others with love & grace
She preaches the Gospel & her sweet Jesus' case

She works to change the imperfect present world
Hoping to bind perfection to the future all furled

Her kindness and gentleness is her soft touch
She gives & loves always, much too much

Her heart can be worn on the edge of her sleeve
Once she gives her love, it will never leave

She throws & casts fate all away
Living & challenging her life day by day

She seizes each moment as it might be her last
As she knows time is speeding by way too fast

She knows that life is led by God's calling
So she is brave & strong never fearing falling

Her God rules her heart; He's her strength & her might
This is what gives her, the courage to fight

She interacts & lives her life feeling deeply
Her inner intuitive voice leads her completely

Her ethereal light shines on others' ways
Her eyes & her smile glow as bright sunny rays

Her empathic presence is like a warm summer day
Her inner child within delights to laugh & to play

Can this nymph of light, this mysterious She,
possibly ever hope to be me?

This is my prayer and my wish to see
I trust God; He can help make me to be
