Snowflakes
Here is an excerpt from the seventh chapter of my new release, "The Signature of God":
“The Bible tells us that Jesus performed miracles. He healed the blind. He calmed storms. He walked on water. He turned water into wine. He fed thousands of people with only five loaves of bread and two small fish. I believe He did this because He genuinely cared about people and wanted to help them. At the same time, His miracles revealed something about the authenticity of God. When Jesus performed miracles, people took notice and thought about who He was and what He was capable of. His miracles pointed to God.
God’s miracles are still all around us today, evident in big, powerful, life-changing ways and also observable in simple, meaningful, quiet ways. He performs these supernatural acts for the same reason: to touch and transform our lives and to show us He is the God of the universe. We can find His miracles in nature, the characteristics and behaviors of animals, and in our own human bodies. Though I’ve touched on many examples of God’s signature in His creation in previous chapters, I’d like to further illustrate how He blesses us through the miracles of His creation because I think they help us learn something about God’s heart, creativity, and authority. Even more, I believe that God’s miracles in creation offer us some fascinating metaphors for faith and truths about life.”
Snowflakes
Still and quiet, I want your peace.
Miracle crystals each one unique.
You mold together to all form smooth white blankets all the norm.
Each flake has no conformity
just like humans with no uniformity.
A microcosm of our humanity—
If we look, we will see.
Ever present everywhere
then you vanish into thin air.
When I gaze into nature,
I see God.
Tiny snowflakes He made so fair.
Where do we go, oh where, oh where?
